SEPTIC ARTHRITIS AND CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE

Articular infections which caused by microorganisms are called as septic arthritis. Septic arthritis usually is not observed in healthy persons. Generally, it develops in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), diabetes mellitus (DM), malignancy. If it is not evaluated immediately, it may cause high mortality rates. In non-gonococcic septic arthritis, Staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause of non-gonococcic septic arthritis. In this paper three patients with ESRD and non-gonococcic septic arthritis which were hospitalized in Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital the Second Internal Medicine Clinic were evaluated. One of these patients has died and the others were treated succesfully with antibiotherapy and conservative methods.
