Proximal ureteric injuries are most severe complication of ureterorenoscopic procedures. Most patients with severe proximal ureteric injuries have good renal function and wish to protect their kidney. We report a 40-year-old patient with proximal ureteric avulsion due to ureterorenoscopic intervention, who underwent successful autotransplantation. Autotransplantation offers salvage of the kidney with acceptable complication rate, and is a better treatment option for severe ureteric injuries than ileal interposition and nephrectomy.
