Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is an important comorbidity factor during several stages of chronic kidney disease. There is no consensus in the literature about the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of HCV infection in chronic kidney disease. KDIGO (Kidney Disease-Improving Global Outcomes), whose major mission is to prepare global guidelines, has prepared its first guideline on this issue. In this commentary, the major clauses of KDIGO-HCV guideline is reviewed and has been compared with our national policies in order to get a better local use of the guideline.
