ETIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF THE CHILDREN WITH ENURESIS

Sixty one children aged 5-16 years (30 girls and 31 boys) were evaluated for etiological factors. 38 of them had primary, 23 had secondary enuresis, Four cases with primary, one case with secondary enuresis had enuresis nocturnal and diurnal together.

In the patients with primary enuresis, 92.1 % had deep sleeping, 60.5 % had a positive family history, 105 % of them had hypercalciuria, 39.4 % had parasites in the stool and 5.2 % had urinary tract infection. Pathological findings in USG were shown in 7.8 % and urograms were abnormal in 18.4 % of them.

In the secondary enuretic patients 82.6 % of them had deep sleeping, 39.1 % had a positive family history, 21.7 % of them had hypercalciuri, 30.4 % had parasites in the stool and 8.6 % of them had urinary tract infection. There was no abnormality in USG but urograms showed pathological findings in 39.1 %

We would like to draw attention to radiological investigation in enuretic patients.
