Ethyleneglycol (EG) belongs to the group of dihydric alcohol, a colourless, odourless, sweet tasting fluid.

Intake of EG, either accidentally or suicide attempt, is characterised by severe acidosis, depression of central nervous system and oluguria acute renal failure.

We reported here a case with severe metabolic acidosis, coma and acute renal failure due to suicidal intake of EG
